The Northern Territory has almost twice the amount of mental health patients per capita than the Australian average and the lowest number of services; Two Two One Mental Health Charity provides practical and tailored mental health training and services and understands the diversity of the Territory.
The key to a healthy mind is feeling connected to people, culture or place. At Two Two One we cultivate this by facilitating honest conversations. Two Two One stands for we have two eyes, two ears and one mouth, so we should listen and observe twice as much as we speak.
You’re more likely to use Mental Health First Aid in your lifetime than Physical First Aid. Let’s start having these conversations, it could be as simple as booking one workshop.
TWO EYES, TWO EARS, ONE MOUTH
We should listen and observe.
Twice as much as we speak.
The key to understanding and communication.
Two Two One in the making
Mental health doesn’t have to be a downer! At Two Two One we pride ourselves on every workshop being interesting, interactive and practical.
Two Two One Mental Health Charity was started by a passionate social worker who saw the lack of quality mental health services that match with the uniqueness of the NT.
Most people would want to know how to support their loved one through mental illness and we wanted to create safe spaces with knowledgeable facilitators to teach these skills.
We also make it fun, with a range of interactive resources and activities to create meaningful conversations. Participants walk away with confidence to implement their learning. We have had many participants let us know they used their skills within days of completing their training.
We are continuing to grow, be innovative and work with new industries to spread the awareness that mental health is a part of everyone’s life.
What people say...
"Great course, anyone and everyone should take the time to do this course as it provides a much needed understanding of mental health problems. It is not just to be used in the workplace, but also good knowledge and skills to have to keep yourself, and those around you, well."
"Instructor knows this topic in depth and can therefore answer all questions and help us understand different mental health issues/risks."
"Thank you again for taking us through the Youth Mental Health First Aid Course. I have done this course a couple times and this by far was the best one I have been involved in.
Very interactive and having the case studies catered to our program and our boys was fantastic. Informative, well planned and coordinated with plenty of passion. Well done."
